NEW YORK CITY—The Association for a Better New York has appointed Angela Sung Pinsky to serve as its executive director, succeeding Jennifer Hensley. Pinsky, who assumes her new role effective Sept. 15, is currently SVP for management services and government affairs at the Real Estate Board of New York.
“Angela brings a wealth of experience and a deep appreciation for what can be accomplished when government and the business, civic, not-for-profit and labor communities are working hand-in-hand to create a better New York,” says William Rudin, ABNY chairman. “ABNY has been blessed over the years by great leaders, including Jennifer Hensley, whom Angela is replacing. I know I speak on behalf of the entire membership when I say that the best is yet to come for both ABNY and the City of New York.”
In her REBNY role, Pinsky was responsible for REBNY's commercial and residential management divisions, spearheading efforts to improve communication and procedures between the private sector and various governmental agencies that regulate construction, development, and building management. Previously, she served as deputy chief of staff to the deputy mayors of economic development in the Bloomberg administration.
“ABNY is a unique and powerfully effective organization, which is fueled simply by its members' great passion for New York City,” Pinsky says. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Bill Rudin, the board of directors and all of ABNY's members to even further advance the city we love.”
At REBNY, president John Banks says that Pinsky has been “a great asset to REBNY and we're grateful for her years of service to our members and our industry. ABNY couldn't have chosen a more qualified person to continue growing their organization.”
