DALLAS--StreetLights Residential (SLR) has announced the details of its latest high-rise apartment development, located at the corner of Harvard Avenue and Tracy Street.

The project is named The McKenzie. Tricon Capital Group Inc. is expected to be the principal investor in this project, and The McKenzie will be the first property in the U.S. under Tricon's recently announced strategic initiative, Tricon Luxury Residences.

“Residents of The McKenzie will be living in the heart of the Knox Henderson neighborhood next to many popular shops, restaurants and the Katy Trail,” SLR's CEO Doug Chesnut told GlobeSt.com. “We are excited to bring the timeless architecture of an old world hotel, to the local community.”

Reminiscent of a historic luxury hotel, The McKenzie will be an upscale, for-rent private residence offering 183 residential units ranging from 990 square feet to 2,600 square feet and will be comprised of one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans with limited penthouse units offered on level 22.

With an average unit size of 1,600 square feet, the units will feature interiors with chef's kitchens, walk-in showers and soaking tubs.

The 22-story building's suite of services will include a motor-court front entry with valet, concierge service and a 24-hour doorman. Resident amenities will be found on levels one and three offering a bar, garden room with exterior private garden views along with an elevated pool deck accompanied by cabanas, outdoor dining, grilling and fire features situated off of a resident great room, supper club area with kitchen and dining as well as a boutique fitness area adjacent to a meditation garden.

SLR is developing the project and SLR Texas Construction LLC is serving as the general contractor. Project lease-up is expected to begin in fall 2016 with the first units expected to deliver in summer 2017.

Other SLR area developments include The Jordan, 23-story high-rise residential development comprised of 212 units, located just off McKinney Avenue in Uptown Dallas; The Kelton at Clearfork, a four-story residential community comprised of 392 units located in Fort Worth; and The Kathryn – The Canals at Grand Park, the first phase of a three-phase master plan in Frisco. With a mix of apartments and townhomes, Phase I represents 365 units of the master-planned community which includes 1,070 units.
