WASHINGTON, DC—The owners of the Patterson House secured financing for its redevelopment. Plans call for the historic mansion on Dupont Circle to be renovated and expanded into 92 furnished luxury apartment units.
The project is being led by SB-Urban, whose principals are Frank Saul III and Mike Balaban, and its partner Rooney Properties, whose principals are Francis and Kathleen Rooney and Jim Lee.
HFF arranged the joint venture equity through CBD LLC, which is led by principals Chuck Berman and Tracey Appelbaum. The project will include the addition of an eight-story wing, designed by Hartman-Cox Architects. The general contractor will be Manhattan Construction Co. It is meant to be a residential option for people coming downtown or to DC for business.
WASHINGTON, DC—Bozzuto broke ground last month on The Conway Center, a $90 million mixed-use development for the non-profit So Others Might Eat.
It will offer 202 affordable housing units and services such as job training and health care, a first for the District to have these necessities under one roof. "This will be the first facility in the District of Columbia to offer homeless and low-income women, children and men safe affordable housing, job training and health care, all in one place," said Fr. John Adams, SOME president. "It is a natural evolution of SOME's holistic and comprehensive approach to serving homeless and low-income individuals and families."
