SAN DIEGO—The Irvine, CA-based catering and events company 24 carrots is opening a Bistro 24 restaurant and catering operation at Irvine Co.'s One La Jolla Center here. GlobeSt.com spoke exclusively with 24 carrots owner Jon Brown about what attracts him to the corporate venue in San Diego.

GlobeSt.com: Why are you focusing on the San Diego market at this time? What appeals to you about this market?

Brown: We absolutely love the San Diego area. It has a growing corporate and social clientele that fits our company's profile, and we already are doing quite a bit of work down there. We thought it would be great to put an actual restaurant and catering operation directly into an area that we are already servicing.

GlobeSt.com: Why do corporate locations like One La Jolla Center make sense for eateries like Bistro 24?

Brown: Locations like One La Jolla tend to have great tenants, who we're able to serve with quick, friendly service, coupled with quality ingredients and a fresh approach to food. Corporate locations have similar priorities to 24 carrots: high quality, efficiency, and consistency.

GlobeSt.com: What is your strategy for introducing these restaurants into other areas of San Diego or California?

Brown: Word of mouth is our greatest strategy. We are approached several times each year to put our restaurant into buildings based on our delicious food and over-the-top service.

GlobeSt.com: What else should our readers know about 24 carrots or Bistro 24?
Brown:
With years of experience in the catering industry as 24 carrots, we love bringing the fine-dining cooking principles and service to this casual and welcoming environment. We're a natural fit for busy professionals.
