PHILADELPHIA, PA—Marcus & Millichap has named John F. Thiry, CCIM, as a senior associate in the firm's Philadelphia office. An industrial property expert, Thiry also worked in mission control in Houston on manned spaceflights while in the Navy.
In his new position, Thiry focuses on the sale of office and industrial investment real estate in the Philadelphia area. He also holds the title of associate director of Marcus & Millichap's National Office and Industrial Group.

Before joining Marcus & Millichap, Thiry was an industrial property investment specialist with NAI Commercial Partners in Lancaster, PA. He has nearly 10 years of commercial real estate experience in central Pennsylvania and has been directly responsible for more than 95 commercial real estate transactions.
Thiry is the founder of two real estate investment companies and has owned and operated a technology consulting firm serving small businesses in south central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland. He served as a submarine officer in the United States Navy and supported the nation's manned space flight program as a senior member of the mission control team in Houston.
Thiry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He served as the 2012 president of the Commercial and Industrial Real Estate Council for Lancaster County Association of Realtors and was recognized as the 2012 Lancaster County Commercial and Industrial Practitioner of the Year.
