HOUSTON--Moviehouse & Eatery, the Austin-based dine-in theater chain, is planning its first location in the northwest Houston submarket.
M&E Texas Moviehouse LP has contracted to purchase a 5.87-acre tract of land in the Cypress Creek Lakes master-planned development in near the intersection of Fry Road and Tuckerton Road. Plans are under way for a ten-screen Moviehouse & Eatery.
“Moviehouse & Eatery has been looking in the Houston market for the right opportunity to establish its first location,” Jason Middlebrook, principal with Trulan Property Advisors, told GlobeSt.com. “They feel they've found it with the Cypress Creek Lakes development.”
Construction is expected to start in early 2016 for a spring 2017 opening.
The Austin-based dine-in theater company focuses on providing a premium experience without the premium pricetag. In addition to Moviehouse & Eatery's original Austin location, there are currently three theaters in the North Dallas-Fort Worth area, along with more Texas locations in works.
“The launch of this location will allow Moviehouse to strategically roll out other locations throughout the Houston market—similar to what they have done in the Dallas-Fort Worth area,” Middlebrook says.
