LOS ANGELES—CBRE Group Inc. said Tuesday that Brian McAuliffe has been promoted to president, institutional properties, CBRE Capital Markets in the US. The promotion comes just months after McAuliffe was named executive managing director, capital markets.
In his new role, McAuliffe is responsible for CBRE's institutional sales platform in the US, including multifamily, office, industrial, retail and hotel transactions. He began his real estate career with CBRE in 1983, specializing in multifamily investment sales. During his 22-year tenure with CBRE, he was recognized among the firm's top producers.
Moving over to the principal side of the investment market, McAuliffe joined Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management, then known as RREEF, in 2005 as a managing director in its transactions group. In 2007, he assumed the responsibilities of head of the transactions group and chair of DAWM's investment committee.
Throughout McAuliffe's tenure on DAWM's investment committee, the firm acquired more than $15 billion of properties and sold more than $12 billion worth. He rejoined CBRE in early 2013 as a senior managing director, and was promoted to executive managing director this past January.
