RICHMOND—HHHunt, a privately-held senior health care real estate company, has broken ground on Spring Arbor of Salisbury Memory Care in the Midlothian submarket. Scheduled to open in Fall of 2016, the 48,275-square foot building is HHHunt's first community completely dedicated to memory care. It is next to Spring Arbor of Salisbury, one of HHHunt's six existing senior living communities in Virginia.

The company owns and manages 21 communities in Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland, with others in various stages of development.

"The demand for memory care has been increasing at a rapid pace," said Sally Sperberg, executive director for Spring Arbor of Salisbury. She said the new community will be able to accommodate 48 residents and 40 new Spring Arbor team members.

A survey released earlier this year by Lancaster Pollard [PDF]  noted the same trend. It found that respondents believe that the Alzheimer's/Memory Care subcategory in senior care will experience the most growth over the next twelve months.
