LOS ANGELES—Griffin Capital Corp. has exceed $250 million assets under management in its Griffin Institutional Access Real Estate Fund. The fund invests in private funds and real estate securities, a unique investment strategy that has been producing significant returns.
”As evidenced by the velocity of our capital raise, we believe financial advisors and investors are recognizing the value of our research-based real estate strategy, which combines both public and private real estate securities,” Randy I. Anderson, Ph.D. CRE, the portfolio manager of GIREX at Griffin Capital, tells GlobeSt.com. Since launching a little more than a year ago, the fund has generated a return for class-A shares at a net asset value of 10.21%.
This is rapid growth for the fund, which only last month announced that it had exceeded $200 million. Anderson explains that the confluence of current income and capital appreciation was a major factor in the fund's success. “We believe this combination has historically delivered strong risk-adjusted returns throughout varying market conditions and cycles,” he says. “We are pleased with the risk-adjusted returns that we have been able to deliver to-date and appreciate the continued support from our growing investor base.”
Anderson expects this growth to continue, as the fund is investing in independent financial advisors known for producing returns even during difficult economic times. He believes, though, that fundamentals are strong and will continue to improve.
