CHICAGO—The impending loss of Google hasn't had much of an impact on the Alter Group's 20 W. Kinzie St. The firm just signed CDM Media, Inc. to 13,104 square feet in a portion of the River North tower occupied by the internet search giant.
CDM Media, a Chicago-based B2B technology marketing and media firm, joins a host of major tech firms which now or will soon have offices at 20 W. Kinzie. About 105,000 square feet of Google's space was leased earlier this year by WeWork, the world's largest network of co-working spaces.
Furthermore, last year Modest Inc., a firm founded by tech entrepreneurs Harper Reed and Dylan Richard, leased 11,000 square feet. And Sittercity, an online child care solution which connects millions of families nationwide with babysitters and nannies, leased 13,350 square feet.
“Because the building is located in the city's tightest office market and most-prized entertainment district, our marketing strategy specifically targeted leading entrepreneurial companies seeking to attract highly skilled millennials,” says Michael J. Alter, president of the Chicago-based Alter Group.
20 West Kinzie was represented by Matthew Ward, senior managing director, and Melissa Porcelli, senior associate, Newmark Grubb Knight Frank. CDM Media was represented by Brent L. Burden, senior vice president, and Ed Gerstein, senior vice president, Jameson Commercial Real Estate.
