NEW YORK CITY—Veteran investment sales broker John Crafton has joined Marcus & Millichap's New York City offices as an investment sales broker. Crafton, who early in his career was tabbed "the Prince of Harlem Real Estate," comes to the firm from JCX Realty and Besen & Associates.

In his new role at Marcus & Millichap's Manhattan offices, Crafton will focus on the Bronx, specializing in shopping center and single-tenant properties in the city.

"John brings a proven track record of excellence in his sales and marketing approach," states J.D. Parker, SVP/district manager at Marcus & Millichap. "We are thrilled to have a strong leader who has a true talent for negotiating and a deep dedication for going above and beyond for his clients."

In his first year as a real estate salesperson, Crafton closed 100 apartment rental transactions and was named Rookie of the Year at Barak Realty in 2006. The following year, Mann Report Residential coined him the "Prince of Harlem Real Estate," featuring him among seven top-performing Manhattan brokers. The Long Island resident later moved on to Halstead Property where he specialized in new developments.
