ARLINGTON, VA—Forest City has secured the services of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank Retail to lease 120,000 square feet of food and beverage and entertainment space at Ballston Common Mall. Forest City is completely renovating the mall with a design and concept that includes open-air and enclosed concourses, and a resurfacing of its exterior and interior facades.

When the $300 million project delivers in 2018, the mall will be rebranded Ballston Quarter.

A market food court and a mix of entertainment options will be a cornerstone of the project, which is where the NGKF team of Jessica Curtis, Peter Fine and Nick Marona come in.

Marona said the team views the project as an opportunity "to pull together a roster of some of the best operators and concepts out there, ultimately creating a destination to which the region will be attracted for many years to come."
