MIAMI—After nearly 60 years in Miami Beach, Gerson Preston is moving its Miami headquarters to the Design District. The move allows the public accounting firm office space to grow and keep pace with Miami's urban evolution.

Founded by Gary Gerson in 1959, the firm has grown from a one-man accounting shop to a full-service public accounting firm with more than 75 professionals across South Florida. Gerson's new office spans 12,000 square-feet in the heart of Miami's new urban core at 4770 Biscayne Boulevard.

“With a foothold in Miami for nearly 60 years, Gerson Preston's leadership has helped shape this community from the ground up,” says Richard Preston, managing partner of Gerson. “Miami has gone from a sleepy seaside resort town to a thriving global center for commerce in a matter of decades, and this move will allow us to stay at the forefront of this continued evolution.”

Gerson's expertise spans practice areas including audit under US and international standards, full service tax planning and compliance, international tax, valuation, litigation support, consulting and accounting services. The firm is consistently ranked among the Top 200 largest public accounting firms in the country, as measured by INSIDE Public Accounting.

“Miami has become the nexus point for international commerce from Latin America, Europe and even China, thanks to its attractiveness as a destination and its growing sophistication as a global market,” says Gerson partner Alan Lips. “The Design District embodies this trend and is the perfect venue to strengthen our global full service practice.”

The new office features contemporary design in line with environmentally sustainable principles, including LED lighting and motion detection to reduce energy consumption. Flat screen TV's are featured in every office with full presentation capabilities and the firm's has upgraded all IT functions to include full cloud capability with enhanced security.

“This move is about merging the firm's past with its present, while solidifying its stronghold as Miami's preeminent public accounting firm,” says Steve Klein, a partner at Gerson.  “While the new office will boast a number of high-tech amenities, one thing that remains constant is the high level strategic counsel we provide to preserve our clients' wealth and advance their business goals.”
