NEW YORK CITY—Lee & Associates NYC has brought in a pair of veteran real estate brokers to spearhead a new investment sales division. Long-time associates, the pair both come from Town Commercial.
Former financial analyst Joseph Cogan will serve as a senior managing director while his long-time associate Edmond Pechaty was tapped to be a managing directors. The team will focus on off-market sales opportunities for a host of asset classes such as retail, office, multi-family and development.
Prior to joining Lee NYC, Cogan was the founding agent at Town Commercial, a division of Town Residential, where he and his team most recently brokered investment sales transactions in Noho and Prospect Park West.
Earlier in his career, he was director of commercial real estate for International Properties Group, where he was involved in a development project in Nanjing, Jiangsu China. His background also includes stints in equity sales and trading with Topeka Capital Markets, Collins Stewart, The Benchmark Company and Bear, Stearns.
Pechaty, who speaks both German and Czech, is known for his broad network of investors in the US and abroad. He served as an associate broker at Town, where he identified and presented unique off-market opportunities to his diverse client base. He also worked to mentor junior agents on the investment sales team. His background also includes work as an export specialist in Europe and assistant historian at the US Department of State.
“Joe's experience in commercial real estate brokerage and financial services has translated into a uniquely comprehensive approach to investment sales,” says James Wacht, president of Lee NYC. “He is creative in his deal making because he is able to see investment opportunity from many different angles.”
Adds Wacht, “Edmond's experience gives him a strong global reach. He has a consistent pipeline of deal flow and the ability to bring additional investment opportunities to our clients and well as to our own group of commercial brokers and agents.”
