MIAMI—International tennis star Gaël “La Monf” Monfils is the latest celebrity to buy a unit at Gran Paraiso, the third luxury condominium tower in the 10-acre Paraiso haven. Monfils is the second tennis pro to purchase at the Paraiso community.
The first was Arantxa Sánchez Vicario. The sports starts are expected to frequent the site's five tennis courts, tennis club and pro shop.
Monfils purchased a three-bedroom, three-bathroom corner unit with a den on the 42nd level of Gran Paraiso. The unit has nearly 2,000 square feet of interior space and a 600-foot-plus wraparound terrace with 10-foot ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors. The floor plan offers views of Biscayne Bay, the ocean over Miami Beach, and the city's skyline.
Gran Paraiso sits in East Edgewater. That's near attractions such as the Design District, Wynwood, the Arts & Entertainment District, South Beach as well as Key Biscayne, which beginning next week, which hosts the popular Miami Open tennis tournament.
“Edgewater is poised to become one of the city's most desirable residential neighborhoods for many reasons,” Carlos Rosso, president of Related's condominium development division. “There's its unparalleled central location, ease of access to the hottest neighborhoods and internationally acclaimed destinations for culture and entertainment. Most importantly, the community's bay front location gives that feeling of a secluded and luxurious place.”
Monfils was drawn to Gran Paraiso because of the development's design. He also appreciates the amenities, including lighted tennis courts, bowling lanes, a beach club, bay front restaurant and marina.
“It fits my lifestyle, with lots of space, natural light and amazing views,” says Monfils. “Its design makes it the best tower in Miami.”
Monfils is one of the many celebrities to purchase at Paraiso. In addition to the two tennis stars, DJ and music producer David Guetta, New York Yankees star infielder Alex Rodriguez, and San Antonio Spurs NBA champion Manu Ginóbili have purchased units there.
According to Related, celebrities are drawn to this development for its active lifestyle, which boasts programming through its own bay front park, private marina, waterfront beach club, fitness center, spa, multiple outdoor yoga and Pilates areas, golf simulator, bowling alley, swimming pools, putting green, on-demand service for rental of Jet Skis and windsurfing, kayaking and paddle boarding gear, speed boats, sail boats, and jogging circuit.
