CHICAGO—There is still some untapped demand for new seniors housing in the Chicago suburbs. Caddis, a Dallas-based healthcare real estate firm has begun developing Heartis® Village Orland Park – its second senior living community in IL. The 89,950 square foot assisted living and memory care residence will bring 94 units to 159th St. and Harlem Ave. in Orland Park, about 26 miles southwest of Chicago.
Last year, Caddis began developing a similar 94-unit, 97,471 square foot community in downstate Peoria. Company officials expect to complete that project in the fall of this year.
A Caddis affiliate will own both communities and Pathway Senior Living LLC, an experienced operator of senior living communities in the Chicago area and Wisconsin, will provide management.
“For every Heartis community, we carefully choose the best locations in the country,” says Caddis chief executive officer Jason Signor. “Orland Park is a beautiful city with thriving retail, commercial and healthcare sectors. The senior community also will be easy to access from nearby highway I-80 as well as the Metra commuter rail system that links to the Chicago Loop and from there to O'Hare and Midway Airports.
“In addition to the attractive and convenient location, we want prospective residents and their families to know that Heartis Village Orland Park will be a fun, inviting home where seniors can live life to the fullest while getting the care and support they need,” he adds.
Caddis launched the Heartis brand in early 2013. In addition to Orland Park and Peoria, it has begun developing or has opened Heartis communities in Fayetteville, GA, and in the TX cities of Arlington, Conroe, Fort Worth, Cleburne, Clear Lake, Cypress, Amarillo, San Antonio and Waco.
“The community will offer a wide variety of amenities and special features such as an extensive wellness program,” says Katie Csobaji, Caddis senior vice president of senior living. “It also will offer an integrated healthcare model with multiple levels of the highest-quality medical service that allows residents to receive most of their routine healthcare conveniently within the community.”
Heartis Village Orland Park also will offer a salon and spa with a therapeutic tub; two interior courtyards; a large dining room and a private dining room; delicious, chef-prepared meals; stimulating daily activities; an arts and crafts room; media room; licensed nursing services; beautifully landscaped grounds; 24-hour emergency call system; housekeeping and laundry services; personal transportation; assistance with the activities of daily living; and luxurious finishes.
Company officials expect to complete their latest project in fall 2017. The architect for the project is Austin, TX-based Katus LLC and the general contractor is Rosemont, IL-based McShane Construction Co. LLC.
