NEW YORK CITY—The Rockefeller Group has brought on Bill Edwards as SVP, core holdings. He joins the firm after a nearly 20-year career with several real estate private equity and construction companies. He has served in various leadership capacities at both the portfolio and asset level across virtually all property types, working most recently in Blackstone's Equity Office division.

At that firm he served as VP of asset management, overseeing a nine-building Midtown Class-A portfolio totaling over 4.5 million square feet. He was involved in the acquisition, repositioning or disposition of several premier properties, including Park Avenue Tower, 3 Bryant Park and 229 W. 43rd St., among others.

Earlier, he was a VP of The Carlyle Group, working as the asset manager for 650 Madison Ave., a $1.3 billion Plaza District property that was one of the largest investments of Carlyle's US Real Estate Fund V. Prior to Carlyle, he oversaw a $200 million national portfolio for Greenstreet Real Estate Partners. He started his career as a project manager for Tishman Construction Corp., and was later named a director, where he was focused on corporate performance, risk analysis, and development opportunities.

At Rockefeller, Edwards will be responsible for leading all aspects of the strategy, leasing, capital improvements and market positioning for the company's Rockefeller Center portfolio, which consists of an ownership interest in approximately six million square feet of Class A office space.

“Bill's extensive asset management experience, particularly in Manhattan, will further strengthen our team in New York as we continue to reinvest in our flagship properties to position them for long-term success,” says Dan Rashin, co-president and CEO of The Rockefeller Group.

“I am very pleased to join a company with the scale, track record and reputation of The Rockefeller Group,” adds Edwards. “I'm looking forward to bringing my experience to a strong existing team, at a time when the company is committed to making some of its largest investments in New York in decades, and to helping the company to continue to enhance and grow its platform.”
