NEW YORK CITY—Cushman & Wakefield veteran Dennis Waggner has joined Avison Young as senior director of operations.
He brings more than 35 years of operations experience to Avison Young. Twenty-five of those years were spent at Cushman, according to LinkedIn.com—most recently as senior managing director of the New York, tri-state and New England regions.
At Avison Young, from the office here, he will be responsible for operations within the tri-state region, overseeing all financial, budgeting, human resources, facilities, and brokerage services operations. In addition, he will work with the firm's senior leadership—including Arthur Mirante, II, A. Mitti Liebersohn, Jeff Heller, Sean Cahill and Ted Stratigos—to grow the individual offices as well as the region while working with the managing directors on recruitment, retention, and implementing best practices.
“We are confident that Dennis' skills and 35 years of experience in operations from a global real estate firm, will help bring the Tri-State region's operations to the next level,” states Mirante. “His addition to our growing team will allow us to continue to expand, while ensuring that all internal and external operations are running smoothly for both our clients and employees.”
In his new role, Waggner will report to Liebersohn, president and managing director of New York City operations.
“I'm excited to have Dennis join our growing team here in New York City as we continue to identify individuals who meet the diverse needs of our clients and employees throughout the region,” Liebersohn states. “Dennis' unmatched experience running commercial real estate operations will be of great value to our internal team, and will ensure our operations continue to run smoothly as we grow and expand.”
Waggner is a graduate of Rutgers University where he received a BA in Business Administration. In addition to other honors and awards, he was the two-time winner of the national manager of the year award and the George E. Lees Award at Cushman & Wakefield. Waggner also is active in a number of charities and was a one of the top 10 individual fundraisers in New Jersey in 2015 for the Special Olympics.
“I'm thrilled to join Avison Young, and I look forward to providing operational guidance and support to the entire region,” says Waggner. “With the company's rapid growth and its focus on attracting the tri-state area's top talent, there is no better place to apply my skills.”
