COPT Waiting for US Government to Lease 352,000 SF It Just Delivered
COLUMBIA, MD—As part of its second quarterly earnings report, Corporate Office Properties Trust said it has delivered two properties totaling 352,000 square feet that are being held for the United States Government but are not currently leased. The REIT announced earlier this month that it had contributed six data center shell assets to a joint venture. Before the end of the third quarter, it expects to complete another $235 million of asset sales, bringing total disposition proceeds to $314 million for the year.
Holiday Inn Georgetown Traded for $31.8M
WASHINGTON, DC—The 285-key Holiday Inn Georgetown, which shut down at the end of last year in preparation for a mixed-use redevelopment, traded for $31.8 million, according to a source, or $111,404 per key. JBG Cos. acquired the property from Donohoe. In December of 2015, the Georgetowner reported that the site will be redeveloped into new condos and offices.
Brazilian Steakhouse Fogo de Chão Signs Lease at 1775 Tysons Blvd
TYSONS, VA—Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão has signed a lease at Lerner Enterprises' 1775 Tysons Blvd., its 476,000-square foot, 17-story trophy office tower that just delivered as part of the Corporate Office Centre at Tysons II. Lerner Enterprises is positioning Tysons II as a dining destination. Other restaurants there and at Tysons Galleria include Founding Farmers Tysons, The Palm Restaurant, America Eats Tavern By José Andrés, Wildfire and The Cheesecake Factory. This will be Fogo de Chão's second location in the Washington DC area.
