DALLAS—In a lease that represents the backfilling of approximately half of an anchor space that formerly was occupied by Best Buy, Guitar Center has leased the junior anchor space at Cedar Hill Pointe. This is a new location for Guitar Center, which is scheduled to open this fall.

Steve Gray and Phillip Hooks with The Weitzman Group handled negotiations as exclusive leasing agents for the shopping center in cooperation with Cole Burdette and Rob Franks with JLL.

“This new lease ensures that Cedar Hill Pointe remain one of the strongest retail destinations in the trade area,” Gray said. “The center's approximately 50,000 square feet of small-shop space is essentially full, and the leasing agents are fielding significant interest in the remaining junior anchor space, which totals 16,770 square feet and faces Highway 67.”

This mall-peripheral retail center is located at the northwest corner of Pleasant Run Road and US Highway 67. Guitar Center joins a line-up that includes Jason's Deli, Sherwin Williams, Sleep Number, FedEx Kinko's, SAS Shoes and Fantastic Sams at Cedar Hill Pointe.

Weitzman's Hooks, who handles leasing at the center with Gray, tells GlobeSt.com: “We worked carefully to bring in a concept that would complement the existing tenant mix and drive strong traffic to the center. Guitar Center meets these high standards and is a great addition to Cedar Hill Pointe.”

Guitar Center bills itself as the world's largest musical instruments retailer.
