LOS ANGELES—R.D. Olson Construction has completed the Hampton Inn & Suites in Glendale. This is the hotel builder's second recent project in the Tri-Cities market, illustrating demand for hotels in markets that are both urban and suburban proximate. It previously built a Marriott Residence Inn in Old Town Pasadena, the first new hotel in the market for decades. This second hotel shoes a real demand for hotels in these markets, which are both proximate to urban cores as well as suburban amenities.
“This is our second hotel in the Tri-cities market over the past couple of years, and our third in the past decade,” Bill Wilhelm, president of R.D. Olson Construction, tells GlobeSt.com. “Throughout the Tri-cities there has been a push toward revitalization and growth, which has raised the bar for the region. These areas are bringing in new experiences and offerings that create a sense of place and excitement for visitors and residents. As a result, demand for hospitality properties, especially select-service properties that can accommodate both business and leisure travelers, in the region has risen exponentially.”
The property is on Colorado Street and Brand Boulevard in Glendale, adjacent to the Americana at Brand. It is also proximate to popular Los Angeles neighborhoods, like Downtown, Silverlake and Hollywood. This made it an ideal location for a hotel property. “Location is always of the utmost importance when considering a site for a hospitality project,” says Wilhelm. “The Hampton Inn & Suites in Glendale is at coming in at the ground floor of the revitalized downtown experience that Glendale is successfully creating. Its nearby location to a variety of amenities, including Americana at Brand, will make it a convenient destination for out of town visitors as well as locals looking for accommodations.”
The 57,327-square-foot Hampton Inn & Suites Glendale has 94 rooms with a mix of queen, king and studios. It was designed with local market style in mind, and features mosaic windows, wood accents and high ceilings and eclectic art.
