HOUSTON—After getting an MVP nod in 2012, David Boyd, a principal with Boyd Commercial/CORFAC International, received the Charlie King MVP Award as CORFAC's most valuable player again just recently. It is the second time Boyd has won the Charlie King award during his 25 years as a CORFAC member.
CORFAC International 2016 president John Homsher announced its annual awards for the association's greatest contributors for the year at its recent fall summit held in Toronto. CORFAC International is a network association of leading independent commercial real estate service firms with more than 80 offices throughout North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia.
“I personally selected David Boyd, CCIM, SIOR to win our MVP Award. He is the first two-time winner of the Charlie King Award in CORFAC's 27-year history. David has been an active and willing participant since joining CORFAC International 25 years ago. He has been instrumental in some of our largest initiatives in recent years including branding, strategic planning and the hiring of our current executive director. This past year, David was very involved in our public relations and marketing strategies, and redesign and relaunch of a new website. Due to his years of selfless leadership and commitment to the betterment of CORFAC International, he was a natural choice to win this prestigious award,” said Homsher.
For the past three years, Boyd has chaired CORFAC's communications committee including its public relations and advertising programs. The recipient of the Charlie King MVP Award is recognized for devoted and exceptional service to CORFAC International. This person has not only been one of the most valuable players on the team during the current year, but also has made substantial contributions to the overall development of CORFAC through the years.
“Service to CORFAC has been rewarding due to the quality of relationships, information exchange and new business opportunities the network has brought our clients and our firm,” Boyd tells GlobeSt.com. “It's very nice to be recognized by my peers and colleagues for the work I have done on behalf of the organization.”
Boyd Commercial/CORFAC International was founded in 1977 and specializes in industrial and office sales and leasing, investments and land in the greater Houston area. Last year, the firm completed 2.5 million square feet of transactions and sold or purchased more than 400 acres of land for clients with a total consideration of $183 million.
The other awards at the Toronto fall summit included the Thomas B. Hayes Jr. Award (won by Kurt Walsh), the Olen Monsees Award (won by Sim Doughtie) and the Steven H. Podolsky International Member of the Year Award (won by Alistair Subba Row).
