NEW YORK CITY—More than 500 New York business people gathered at Gotham Hall on Wednesday evening, November 9th, for the Lung Cancer Research Foundation's 14th annual Strolling Supper. TV newsman Bill Ritter, of WABC, served as emcee for the event, which raised more than $1.45 million to help combat the dreaded disease.
A highlight of the evening was an emotional video that featured several children—including Charlotte Chalmé, daughter of Raymond Chalmé, CEO, Broad Street Development—who have lost loved ones to lung cancer.
“It's heartwarming to see the business community's continued embrace of lung cancer research. Their generosity is helping to save lives,” said CBRE's Mary Ann Tighe, vice chairman of LCRF. Tighe's sister Joan, a non-smoker, succumbed to lung cancer in 2001.
