MIAMI—Foundry Commercial has acquired South Florida property management firm Trolem. With the acquisition, the firm adds 2 million square feet to its industrial property management portfolio.
Foundry will expand its customer base in South Florida under the leadership of industry veteran Ford Gibson, the company's managing director. Noteworthy is the fact that Gibson once owned and operated Trolem. He anticipates the buy will beef up Foundry's leasing and management portfolio as it continues to invest and expand in the region.
“Foundry has made a strategic focus on industrial in South Florida, given our position as the port of entry for 80% of all the goods traded with Latin America,” Gibson tells GlobeSt.com. “With that in mind, this acquisition is an invaluable asset as we continue to expand our industrial presence in the South Florida market.”
Gibson decided to join Foundry last year in order to pursue his passion for development and investment projects. Gibson has been growing successful commercial real estate companies—and developing high profile projects in the Greater Miami area—for decades. He is highly regarded across the Southeast.
As the former owner of Gibson Realty, Gibson grew his property management company to include a portfolio of more than 6.5 million square feet of office, industrial, and flex space in South Florida. Before opening his firm in 2004, Gibson replaced Jeb Bush as president of Codina when he became governor of Florida.
As Foundry Commercial looks to expand its development and investment activity in South Florida with projects like the 1.75 million square-foot Carrie Meek Industrial Business Park, in addition to its growing services business, it is evident that Foundry Commercial is dedicated to the South Florida market and will continue to build upon its differentiated platform that is fully focused on delivery value for its customers.
