DUBLIN, CA—With the rising cost of housing in San Francisco, homeowners are migrating to the East Bay where they can live in transit-oriented developments and commute to the city for work. An influx of these suburban developments is playing into the desire among homebuyers for walkability and proximity to conveniences, while also having access to jobs, schools and entertainment–a scenario once reserved for bustling US metros such as San Francisco and New York.
California homebuilder Trumark Homes is capitalizing on homeowners living further from the typical urban core while also having access to conveniences by building communities close to public transportation. In Dublin, where the city's downtown core has emerged as a commercial and mixed-use center, Trumark Homes will launch sales this spring on its newest community called Perch.
“With Silicon Valley's booming tech sector just miles away, we are seeing a flood of homebuyers moving eastward for affordability, which has made the city of Dublin one of the fastest growing cities in California. Along with that push eastward has come an increased interest by homebuyers in access to amenities, local conveniences and choices of transportation, and we're happy to say that Perch has the full trifecta,” Tony Bosowski, division president, Northern California at Trumark Homes, tells GlobeSt.com. “Residents at Perch are within close walking distance to BART along with the bustling dining and retail scene in downtown Dublin and our Tri-Valley location provides direct access to major freeways that connect residents to all of the Bay Area.”
The homes features two- and three-bedroom three-story townhomes with rooftop decks. There will be a total of 60 new townhomes ranging from approximately 1,521 to 1,758 square feet, all with 2.5 baths.
Dublin has the faster pace of downtown with a neighborhood vibe, says the developer. Trumark is also behind the 806-home master planned community Wallis Ranch underway just down the street.
“We carefully analyzed our buyer profile for Perch recognizing that we were targeting a niche demographic that places particular emphasis on design and lifestyle,” said Michael Maples, co-founder at Trumark Homes, tells GlobeSt.com. “We knew that our buyer would be attracted to an urban design, but also would value a low maintenance home due to their busy schedule. The three-story townhome design at Perch reflects just that. Our rooftop decks maximize the use of outdoor space and create the feeling of a city environment, with all the benefits of a suburban lifestyle.”
