Restaurant concept Musume

DALLAS—As more multifamily/mixed-use developments add culinary experiences that not only appeal to the multifamily dwellers but also surrounding residents, office/mixed-use properties are now finding the destination restaurant concept has the same effect. An example of this is contemporary Asian restaurant, Musumé, scheduled to open later this year.

Musumé will join Flora Street Café as the second restaurant at HALL Arts in the Dallas Arts District. The five-acre mixed-use three-phase development by HALL Group is located on two full city blocks.

“The restaurant concept will offer a new dining option to the companies at KPMG Plaza, and will also be a destination restaurant for diners to come and experience all of the activity happening on Flora Street in the Arts District,” said Craig Hall, founder and chairman of HALL Group and developer of HALL Arts.

The 5,000-square-foot restaurant will be located at 2330 Flora St. Creator and co-owner Josh Babb of Rock Libations is the restaurant group behind Kenichi Dallas, Shooters in Victory Park, Chop Shop in Carrollton and Chop Shop Live in Roanoke.

“We look forward to being a part of this new project and feel strongly that having a location next to an award-winning chef's fine dining restaurant will complement what we are creating for the HALL Arts guest,” Babb says.

Dana Foley of Gensler Designs is planning a warm yet contemporary interior using natural materials, light and textures. The name, Musumé, means “daughter” in Japanese.

“Musume will be a great addition to the dining scene at HALL Arts and will complement the success of neighboring Stephan Pyles' Flora Street Café. We look forward to them opening this November,” Kim Butler, director of leasing at HALL Group, tells GlobeSt.com.

HALL Arts was completed in 2015. The first phase of the development includes KPMG Plaza, an 18-story 500,000-square-foot class-A office building with 20,000 square feet of restaurant space, including Stephan Pyles' Flora Street Café, the public Texas Sculpture Walk featuring Texas artists and the HALL Collection comprised of commissions and installations of international works of art. The second phase will include a condo high-rise with an attached boutique hotel.

Michelle Caplan with Weitzman Group represented HALL Arts in the restaurant transaction.
