PLANO, TX—JPMorgan Chase purchased 50 acres within the Legacy West development to build a multi-building 1-million-square-foot campus. This includes 49 acres at Headquarters Drive and Communications Parkway, as well as a 1-acre parcel at the corner of Communications Parkway and Legacy Drive.
Construction began in the first half of 2016. KDC recently celebrated the topping out of the new corporate campus.
“JPMorgan Chase's new office campus is on schedule, despite a substantial amount of inclement weather and an incredibly tight construction schedule,” Toby Grove, president, KDC, tells GlobeSt.com. “We look forward to introducing the new campus to the employees this fall.”
The campus also features an internal Chase branch for employees, along with a freestanding two-story flagship Chase bank branch on the 1-acre parcel.
“JPMorgan Chase is committed to the DFW market, and this major investment positions North Texas to be a vital and growing hub for our company,” said Steve Hemperly, managing director, consumer and community banking, JPMorgan Chase. “Our new campus will make it easier for our employees to provide outstanding service and solutions to clients around the world. It will also reduce the company's real estate operating costs in the DFW market, savings we'll reinvest in our strategic campuses to provide the facilities, work environment, and accommodations our employees need and deserve.”
The first employees are expected to begin moving in later this year and continuing through 2018 and 2019. About 6,000 employees, approximately half of Chase's employment in DFW, will work at the new corporate center, focusing on serving consumer and business customers.
“JPMorgan Chase is an incredibly important piece of the equation at Legacy West,” said Grove. “This is the initial phase of a project that helps round out the corporate-anchored portion of Legacy West that we believe will help Chase achieve their goal of providing a collaborative, engaged and interactive campus for its employees in an amenity-rich setting.”
Amenities will include training and conference space with technology and telepresence capabilities, food court, dining area and coffee shop, health and wellness center, and back-up childcare.
HKS is the project architect and Beck Group is the general contractor. The campus will include multiple mid-rise buildings and parking garages connected by landscaped, open areas and water features.
Within the last 27 years, KDC has produced approximately 30 million square feet valued at more than $5 billion. KDC's portfolio includes developments for Toyota North America, Liberty Mutual, State Farm, FedEx and Raytheon, in addition to this project for JP Morgan Chase.
