WASHINGTON, DC–During SIOR's 2017 Spring Conference held last week in New Orleans, David Hagan, president of SIOR Foundation introduced the four students participating in the 2017 Student Real Estate Experience Scholars program. He also unveiled two new SIOR Foundation programs.
The four students are Elizabeth Ming, a 2017 MBA Candidate at the University of Alabama, Spencer Kleweno, a Finance major at Oregon State University, Angelo Guo, a Business Administration and Economics major at the University of California at Irvine and Jason Clark, a Marketing/Real Estate major at the University of Alabama.
After the introductions, Hagan announced that the foundation launched the Small Chapter Development Program, which will provide $5,000 in unmatched funds for chapters with limited resources to host educational events and to identify opportunities to financially support students in their respective regions that are pursuing undergraduate and graduate CRE-related degrees from a college or university.
Another program the foundation has initiated is called Leveraging Matching Scholarship Funds, which will solicit universities to match SIOR's scholarship gifts. The program is being rolled out nationally after it was introduced earlier this year by the St. Louis SIOR Chapter.
