DestinationXL

FORT WORTH—Specialty retail continues on an upswing. This is exemplified by several leases finalized in recent months by DestinationXL, a superstore that offers an assortment of XL men's clothing in more than 200 US locations, according to Venture Commercial Real Estate principal John Zikos.

A 6,002-square-foot DestinationXL is slated to open in spring 2018 at 1201 Chisholm Trail at the Glade Park Lifestyle Center in Euless, TX. Additional DestinationXL deals completed include a 6,181-square-foot store in Allen, TX, a 7,861-square-foot location in Fort Worth and a 6,000-square-foot location in Amarillo, TX.

“DestinationXL is a prominent national brand with a large customer base that will serve these communities well,” Zikos tells GlobeSt.com. “Due to the rapid growth Central Texas is experiencing, it was critical to lock in these highly sought locations for the brand to continue its aggressive expansion plan throughout Texas and surrounding states.”

Venture Commercial Real Estate completed all four leases on behalf of DestinationXL. Jonathan Cooper and Zikos represented the tenant, Casual Male Retail Store LLC, in the four transactions.

“We've been fortunate to work with Casual Male for many years, and were pleased to assist them in rolling out the new DXL concept into the Dallas market in 2011,” said Zikos. “Since then, we have represented them in securing 13 locations throughout North and West Texas, and surrounding states.”

The landlords were represented by Shawn Fullam with Collett Southwest (Euless), Andrew Lehner with CBRE Inc. (Allen), Ashley Yessick with DuWest Realty (Fort Worth) and Justin Kite with Coldwell Banker (Amarillo).

Venture specializes in retail brokerage services throughout the Southwest, and provides market planning and site selection for restaurant and entertainment clients through its Venturetainment team. Venture is the DFW partner of X Team International, a network of retail real estate advisors with expertise across the United States, Canada and Europe.
