1407 Broadway

NEW YORK CITY—Women's accessories and footwear retailer VCS Group is consolidating operations on West 36th and 37th streets here to more than 42,000 square feet of leased space at Shorenstein Properties' 1407 Broadway.

The VCS Group, founded by the late Vince Camuto, will be shifting operations from 148 W. 37th St. and 141 W. 36th St. to 42,748 square feet of space at 1407 Broadway. Camuto, who also co-founded Nine West, passed away in 2015.

The women's apparel and accessories firm signed a 10-year lease for space on the third floor of the more than 1-million-square-foot office tower, according to CBRE. VCS Group is scheduled to move into its space at 1407 Broadway in the spring of 2018.

A CBRE brokerage team of Peter Turchin, Gregg Rothkin, Brett Shannon, Ben Fastenberg, Keith Caggiano and Ross Zimbalist represented Shorenstein Properties in the transaction. Jeffrey Rosenblatt of Coldwell Banker Commercial Advisors represented the VCS Group in the deal.

“VCS was looking to consolidate its operations onto a large, single floor to facilitate collaboration among colleagues,” says Turchin. “They were attracted by the building's loft-like feel and incredible sight lines. This deal underscores the desirability of big, efficient floor plates and 1407 Broadway's ability to attract high-quality, global brands and companies.”

The building ownership is completing a $30-million renovation that includes a new lobby, upgrades to the façade and elevators, and new retail tenants Mighty Quinn's, Wichcraft, Dig Inn, Num Pang, Juice Generation, Gregory's Coffee and Luke's Lobster.
