ROSSLYN, VA–The US Department of State is renewing its existing lease, due to expire in 2019, for the entire 1701 North Fort Myer Dr. building as well as expanding into the remaining vacancy of 1200 Wilson Blvd. for another 15 years. Monday Properties owns the office buildings, which are now both fully leased with this transaction.
As part of the renewal, 1701 North Fort Myer Drive and 1200 Wilson Boulevard will be combined into a cohesive “single facility campus,” that will include an above grade connector between the two building lobbies and entail a multi-year phased renovation at 1701 North Fort Myer Dr. “Our significant investment into the single facility campus will upgrade the property to the latest government efficiency standards,” Tim Helmig, managing partner of Monday Properties, said in a prepared statement.
Monday Properties was represented by Joe Delogu and Chad Habeeb at FD Stonewater. CBRE's Henry Chapman and Sara Dunstan represented the government in this deal.
