NEW YORK CITY—There's still time to nominate candidates for Real Estate Forum magazine's Top Brokers in the office and multifamily categories, in advance of special sections to appear in the magazine's September issue and in a special supplement on GlobeSt.com. However, that time is running down; nominations for both Top Brokers: Office and Top Brokers: Multifamily close on Wednesday, August 9.
Both the Office and Multifamily sections will spotlight the year's top investment sales brokers in each of these sectors, based on transactions they've completed over the preceding 12 months. The Office section will also profile the year's most prolific leasing brokers.
To even the playing field between nominees in various markets, the editors of Forum have developed the following methodology: All nominees will be given a score for the three fields on the nomination form, based on transactions that closed between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017. For office brokers, those three fields are total number, total dollar volume and total square footage of deals. For multifamily brokers, the fields include total number and dollar volume of completed transactions and the total number of units sold. The sum of the three scores will determine their final rank.
These sections appear every two years in the pages of Forum. Previous honorees in the Top Brokers: Office section, last published in November 2015, have included the team of Josh Kuriloff and Charles Borrok at Cushman & Wakefield and CBRE's Mary Ann Tighe in office leasing; and, on the investment sales side, Kevin Shannon at CBRE and two of his colleagues on the East Coast, the team of Darcy Stacom and William Shanahan. In multifamily, the top honoree in the December 2015 issue was Aaron Jungreis, president of Rosewood Realty Group, who brokered more than $2.6 billion of sales transactions.
