NEW YORK CITY—More than 250 guests attended the Asian Real Estate Association of America Manhattan chapter Lunar New Year celebration and board installation at the Circle NYC nightclub in Times Square.

The 2018 board members were sworn in to the following positions on Thursday evening:

Raj Rajpal, Vice President

Rachel Kwong, Treasurer

Lisa Liu, Secretary, Director

Gregg Christensen, Director

Charles Han, Director

Cliff Katz, Director

GieFaan Kim, Director

Sam Suzuki, Director

Wilson Ting, Director

During welcoming remarks, the trade organization's new president, Dorian Lam, underscored the non-profit's underlying mission. It seeks to promote homeownership opportunities in Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. The organization notes the rate of home ownership for Asian Americans is 6% less than the national average.

The education foundation chair, Amy Kong, addressed her organization's role in strengthening the Asian American community with housing.

In addition to drinks, hors d'oeuvres, dinner, a fashion show, and drum and dragon dance performances, the event raised additional money selling raffle tickets.

AREAA membership is open to people having a diversity of cultural, ethnic and professional backgrounds, provided they are working with or seeking to work with Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. The foundation currently has 15,000 members in 25 chapters across North America.

The slideshow provides a glimpse into the festive evening of socializing, networking and looking forward to deals in the Year of the Dog.
