OAKLEY, CA—Amazon is the first tenant of the Contra Costa Logistics Center, according to Oakley city officials. The Amazon fulfillment center will occupy the 150,000-square-foot building one at the complex.

Once the project is complete (which is anticipated within four years), five buildings totaling 2 million square feet will house a variety of light industrial and logistics uses, providing nearly 2,000 jobs to the community. Mayor Kevin Romick said the center will be a major economic development engine for East Contra Costa County for years to come.

A formal announcement and ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on October 7.
