The NRP Group has started the construction on a multifamily property in Carrollton, Texas, adding to the company's Dallas-Fort Worth pipeline.

Called Jackson Road, the asset will bring 370 luxury units to the North Dallas market, which include one, two and three bedroom homes. The latter will feature dens. All of the units will contain in-unit laundry and high-end finishes. The average size will be more than 1,000 square feet.

Additionally, the 661,000 square foot project will include amenities such as a fitness center, a pool, a dog park, a business center and a courtyard.

When delivered, the multifamily units will aim to appeal to those looking for flexible living and remote work, according to NRP. Plus, job centers are located nearby, as well as public transit. Particularly, the project is near the I-35E and the President George Bush Turnpike and is within walking distance from both the Silver Line commuter rail and the DART’s Green Line.

“As the cost of homeownership continues to rise across North Texas, renters are seeking spacious, well-connected communities that support modern lifestyles,” Alena Savera, vice president of development at NRP, said in a statement.

“Jackson Road’s expansive floor plans, amenities, and easy access to transit and major employment centers will deliver an elevated living experience for Carrollton residents that’s increasingly hard to find.”

NRP continues to target Dallas-Fort Worth for new developments. Some that have recently started construction include 340-unit Cora in Anna, 330-unit The Whitley in Princeton, 300-unit Sutton Flats in Howe and 324-unit Ascent at Mountain Creek. According to NRP, it has developed more than 30 properties and over 7,000 units in the metro.

The flurry of developments in the area comes as Dallas has been a leader in permitting multifamily growth. The city experienced a 21.1 percent increase in June compared with May, trailing cities including Houston (29.3 percent), Orlando (48 percent) and Newark (25 percent), according to a report from RealPage.
