Ground-breaking for The HueHub, a planned mixed-use community in Miami, has moved one step closer. The demolition at the site in the West Little River neighborhood is now underway, which will pave the way for the $880 million project to begin.
A big part of the plans calls for delivering "attainable housing," especially for local first responders and essential workers, according to a statement provided by officials of The HueHub. This includes police officers, firefighters, teachers, local services employees, hospitality workers and healthcare professionals.
The goal at The HueHub is deliver more than 4,000 fully furnished residential units. Studios will cost roughly $1,300 per month, one bedrooms $1,600, and two bedrooms $1,900. Roughly 3,000 units have been secured at base rental rates for essential workers and first responders.
Along with affordability, creating a vibrant community under the project will also be prioritized. The HueHub will include almost 200,000 square feet of amenities, coworking and cultural spaces, a public park that spans two acres, concierge-style offerings and childcare and healthcare services.
The full project will include seven 35-story towers.
Pablo Castro is serving as the developer of The HueHub.
"Beginning demolition is a tangible signal that this long-envisioned project is becoming real," said Castro.
"This step reflects months of planning, coordination, partnership, commitment and a true vision to move forward with a development that directly responds to the urgent housing needs of the people who keep Miami-Dade County running."
With demolition expected to continue for the coming weeks, a groundbreaking is scheduled to take place soon afterward.
Miami-Dade County first approved the project in August 2025.
In 2025, Miami took the top spot on RentCafe's Rental Competitiveness Index, with a score of 92.9. The city gets its draw thanks to its growing status as a tech and finance hub, snagging talent and capital from Wall Street, Silicon Valley and abroad in addition to local demand.
