CHICAGO—The American Academy of Pediatrics has decided to relocate its national headquarters, but won’t have far to move. The professional membership organization of 64,000 has chosen the Opus Group to design and build a 183,000-square-foot office building for it in Itasca, IL, a few miles from its present home at 141 Northwest Point Blvd. in Elk Grove Village. AAP’s broker and consultant JLL worked with Opus on vetting several sites before purchasing an 11.15 acre property in Itasca’s Hamilton Lakes Business Park that will be home to the organization’s new national headquarters.

“They regularly host meetings, seminars and other functions for large groups of people. As such, being in close proximity to O’Hare and hotel options was a priority to the Academy,” Jim Caesar, regional vice president, Opus Design Build, LLC, tells GlobeSt.com. “In addition, AAP wanted to stay close to the current facility to maintain its existing workforce.”
