SAN DIEGO—Creating more walkable communities by providing for density on land served by transit has great popular support in theory—but residents don’t want it in their backyard, Crosbie Gliner Schiffman Southard & Swanson LLP’s newest partner Evelyn Heidelberg tells GlobeSt.com. Heidelberg will head up CGS3’s new land-use and environmental-resources practice, specializing in obtaining and defending entitlements for high-profile developments, master-planned communities, urban infill, mixed-use and historical redevelopments. We caught up with her for an exclusive chat about hot-button development issues today, including California’s current housing shortage and other land-use and environmental issues confronting developers.
