CARLSBAD, CA—A local partnership has acquired 4.7 acres for a two-story, 87,000-sf speculative office building in the Carlsbad Research Center for $2.62 million. Aston Views LLC, with Mark McLaren and John Tworoger as managing partners, plans to begin construction on the Building on Aston Avenue this fall, with completion scheduled for first-quarter 2001. The partnership purchased the land from BTINVII, LLC. The oceanview project is tailored to be either multi- or single-tenant. A golf course scheduled for construction in the area will be another visual amenity, developers say. Business Real Estate Brokerage Co./NAI brokered the land deal. The general contractor is Lusardi Construction Co. The architect is Smith Consulting Architects. Spectrum Property Management will manage the project.
