VoiceStream Wireless Corp., one of the nation’s fastest-growing wireless service providers, plans to open a call center in Colorado Springs, CO’s second largest city, about 60 miles south of Denver.

The 70,000-sf center, which will provide operations and customer services, is being built in the Briargate Business Complex in north Colorado Springs near the US Air Force Academy. The center is scheduled to open in November. Over the next two years, about 550 people will be hired to work at the center. Deutsche Telekom, a German telecommunications giant, plans to buy VoiceStream and invest $5 billion in the operation.
