Grubb & Ellis Taps New NY Managing Director

NEW YORK CITY-Telecom pro also brings domestic and foreign acquisition savvy to the table.

Leonard Zimmerman is his name and now he’s managing director of Grubb & Ellis New York. Zimmerman, formerly an associate director with the firm, has negotiated more than 700,000 sf of space for a major telecom operation here as well as inking deals for such firms as Focal Communications, Internap Network Services and Lenox Hill Hospital.

In addition to his telecom experience, Zimmerman also brings a background in foreign and domestic real estate acquisitions and international trade and labor negotiations.

Grubb & Ellis Co., the parent of the New York operation, posted net income for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2000 of $16.3 million, or $0.77 per diluted common share, compared with net income of $8.1 million, or $0.37 per diluted common share, for the same period a year ago.
