The cellular wars scenario continues in Central Florida as telecommunications companies clash with area residents fearful the 200-foot towers will bring down property values and create a blight on neighborhoods.

In the latest episode, Nextel Communications is asking the Lake County Planning and Zoning commission to table its request for a 180-foot tower while it considers building a shorter pole at the same controversial site. The company is gambling residents will accept the smaller product.

The location is near an auto dealership, off U.S. 441 in Eustis, FL, about 35 miles northwest of Downtown Orlando.
