RUNNYMEDE, NJ-Shipping giant Airborne Express has moved into its new 58,000-sf digs at the Runnymede Corporate Center, signalling a move of warehousing and distribution operations even further down the NJ Turnpike. While such development has been focused on the Exit 7A/Exit 8 region, the new Airborne facility is all the way down at Exit 3.

The new facility–and the larger corporate center–are projects of Richards & Robbins, a locally-based development firm. Runnymede Corporate Center itself is an 11-building, 500,000-sf campus on 60 acres.

Airborne’s existing 40,000-sf facility is also located at the corporate center, but was not readily expandable to meet the shipper’s needs. Much of that former space has been re-leased by Insignia/ESG’s Saddle Brook, NJ and Philadelphia offices to Quality Automotive Parts, Dynamic Forces and Colortronics. About 17,000 sf is still available.
