Best Buy to Open 11 Stores in NY Area This Friday

Best Buy is gearing up to make its grand entrance into the New York metropolitan area marketplace with store openings on Long Island, in the Hudson Valley in New York State as well as four locations in New Jersey later this week.

Each store totals approximately 40,000 sf of space and will feature name brand consumer electronics products, personal computers, software and appliances.

Scheduled to open this Friday (Sept. 22) in New York are Best Buy stores on Long Island at: 1051 Old Country Rd. in Westbury; 1851 Sunrise Highway in Bayshore and at 3601 Hempstead Turnpike at the Nassau Mall in Levittown. In the Hudson Valley, Best Buy will open stores at 1240 Palisades Center Drive in West Nyack (Rockland County); 1100 North Galleria Drive in Middletown (Orange County); 2001 South Rd. in Poughkeepsie (Dutchess County) and at 1300 Ulster Ave. in Kingston (Ulster County).

The consumer electronics retailer has also scheduled Feb. 22 grand openings at four locations in New Jersey at: Route 46 West and Andrews Rd. in West Paterson (Totowa); 925 Paterson Plank Rd., in Secaucus; 2391 Route 22 West in Union and at 675 Route 1 South in Woodbridge.

The Minneapolis-based retailer has scheduled four other store openings this fall in the New York metro area.
