Concord Mills Cited for Design and Imaging

CONCORD, NC-After having just celebrated its first year of operation in the Charlotte region, Concord Mills, a 1.4 million-sf retail and entertainment destination, has won top honors for design and imaging in Shopping Center World’s 11th annual Superior Achievement awards competition.

The 200-store center won first place in the new or renovated entertainment center category. The center also received a Merit Award from the Society for Environmental Graphic Design awards program.

Concord Mills is enhanced by an oval racetrack layout, oversized video screens and Carolinas-themed architecture.

Concord Mills attracted 18 million visitors in its first year and has created 3,500 new full and part-time jobs. The center is expected to generate $300 million a year in retail sales and $18 million annually in tax revenue to the city of Concord, Cabarrus County, and the state of North Carolina.
