DENVER-The Denver office of the Chicago-based real estate auction company, Sheldon Good & Co., will conduct an auction tomorrow of several high-profile properties.

The multi-million auction will be held at 7 p.m. at the Marriott Hotel Southeast at Interstate 25 and Hampden Avenue. The lineup includes The Grand Victorian at Winter Park, an 8,083-sf bed and breakfast originally built as a single-family home and converted into a 10-bedroom B&B. The top bid takes it, regardless of the price, although the suggested opening bid is $495,000. “New construction is going for $200 to $300 per square foot in Winter Park, and our suggested opening price is at $60,” says Jim MacDonnell, who heads Sheldon Good’s Denver office.

Also on the list is the 4,961-sf Earthship Home in Crystal Park in Manitou Springs, a community four miles west of Colorado Springs at the base of Pike’s Peak. The minimum bid is $175,000. The estate sits 9,100 feet above sea level and includes a 1,780-sf office and garage. The main home includes solar heating and a stocked koi pond. It’s been appraised between $800,000 and $900,000.

The Prospector Restaurant in Leadville on the Western Slope is carrying a minimum bid of $175,000. The father-and-son owners are making good money, MacDonnell says, but are tired of working so hard in a restaurant. Celebrities such as Cher, Jimmy Buffet, Lucille Ball and John F. Kennedy Jr. have dined there since it opened in the 1960s.

The top bidder for The Rowhouses at Yates Hill, a townhome project about 10 minutes northwest of downtown’s CBD, will get two units, with the other units carrying a minimum asking price of $150,000 each. Units originally were priced at about $260,000. “It’s owned by a developer, Two Parrots Inc., out of Orlando, FL.,” MacDonnell told “He had a partner in Denver. The construction fell behind schedule, and the FL developer terminated his agreement.”
