ATLANTA-CMD, a locally-based logistics fulfillment company, opted to buy a building for present use and future expansion. The company paid $3.5 million or $32.21 per sf for the 108,635-sf 1050 Northbrook building, located in Suwanee, along the I-85 corridor in the northeast quadrant of the metro area.

Industrial space in the area is in demand. The building became available when the former owner-tenant, Global Equipment Inc., moved to its new 300,000-sf build-to-suit facility, also within the northeast quadrant.

CMD plans to use about half the building immediately and is looking for a tenant to occupy the remainder. Rental rates in the area range between $3.50 per sf and $5.50 per sf.
