Oklahoma City Broadband Firms Makes First Venture Outside Its Home Market

AUSTIN-An Oklahoma City-based broadband wireless firm is joining the growing roster of high-tech companies to set up shop in Austin. AARO Broadband Wireless Communications Inc. will open for business Wednesday at 807 Brazos St., leasing a 1,390-sf site. The office opening is being held in conjunction with the Austin Information Technology Exposition. The office is AARO’s first venture outside its home market.

“With the significant impact technology has made on the economy and infrastructure of Texas’ capital city, we believe Austin is a logical next step for AARO,” says Ron Baker, president and CEO.

In addition to broadband Internet access, AARO will be offering a special package of productivity-driven applications services by spring or summer 2001. These applications include voice-over IP telephony, Internet video conferencing, video on demand (voice mail, fax and e-mail to a single, easy-to-use mailbox) and software applications hosting.
