NEW ROCHELLE, NY-The 500,000-sf New Roc City Family Entertainment Center here is 95% occupied thanks in part to four new lease transactions, report officials with Cappelli Enterprises of Valhalla, the developer of the facility. All four tenants are planning grand opening festivities during the first and second week of December.

Jeffrey Castaldo, executive director of real estate at New Roc City, notes that the largest deal was with New Roc ‘n Bowl, which is scheduled to open in early December on Level 3 of the complex in 24,000 sf of space. New Roc ‘n Bowl will feature 17 bowling lanes, “extreme and hyper bowling,” pool tables, music and dancing.

In addition, Steiner Sports Marketing, relocating from offices in Manhattan, will occupy 17,500 sf of space on the second level of New Roc City. The 13-year-old company is the largest manufacturer of hand-signed collectibles and sports memorabilia. Cappelli officials say that the firm will be consolidating its office and warehouse operations here. A total of 60 employees will be affected by the move. The firm, which is also involved in marketing more than 1,700 professional athletes for appearances and speeches, has scheduled an early December opening.

Other deals include: Frozen Ropes Training Center, which will open its baseball instructional center in mid-December. The company, which has locations in White Plains and in Chester, will occupy 8,000 sf of space on Level 3.

Finally, the Manhattanville College’s Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey teams will occupy 2,500 sf of space for its locker room facilities. The Purchase-based college’s teams will be playing their home games at the New Roc City ice rinks through 2001.

“With the continuing success of Regal Cinemas, Sports Plus, Modell’s, the restaurants and the Marriott Residence Inn, New Roc City is attracting a wide array of tenants,” Castaldo says. “We look forward to these grand opening dates.”
