Insignia/ESG Expands Federal Government Services Group

Washington, DC-Insignia/ESG has named B. John Farmakides the managing director of its newly formed federal financial advisory services group, a unit of its federal government services group. As managing director for the group, Farmakides will be responsible for creating a new business unit specializing in providing Insignia/ESG’s financial advisory services to government agencies.

This group will be a specialized consulting function dedicated to providing the company’s financial services. This includes loan sales, capital market services, leasing, acquisition and disposition, joint ventures, syndications, development projects and recapitalizations in connection with transactions involving the federal government.

Farmakides has more than nine years of experience in federal financial matters relating to loan asset sales and venture capital financing, with experience in the administration of financial resources in a federal operating environment. He has completed sales, financing and marketing of commercial and residential loan portfolios for the federal government in excess of $1.5 Billion. He is a licensed real estate professional in the District of Columbia and Virginia and a member of the District of Columbia Bar and the American Bar Association.
